Help a noob with TableView :D

Hey guys,

New here but have been trying to get my head around app development for some time now.

I was wondering whether someone could point me to a suitable tutorial for my issue. I have watched/read 100's of tutorials which have helped me work out what i need to do and they have all been able to help with little bits of my idea, but they all add up to like 75% of what I need to do.

Can you find that other 25%?

My idea, in simple terms (because its a simple app ) is a pre made contacts book. I basically want to make an app which is a table view with a list of... (lets say people) and when you click on one of the names, it brings up another view with their phone number and a button that says call. Which when pressed would call the number.

Sound simple? I know. Not for me though. After buying a few books, watching loads of videos ect ect I am yet to find a tutorial to help me get this made.

I can get the TableView done with all the names ect, i know that bit is easy...

But the bit I don't know how to do is to get that other view to come up when you click a name and display the relevant phone number for that contact, with a button to call the number.

If anyone out there knows of any tutorials on how to do this I would be so grateful! If not, is there a lovely person out there who would like to write me a tutorial? Many thanks would be given.

I think I've covered everything, i feel at a loss with this post however. I'm usually the one giving out advice in other areas, however i have tried for months to get this app working and i just cant get it to work!

The other issue Im having is that its time sensitive so need it done within the next few weeks. (I know one of you lot could do it in minutes but i truly am a noob when it comes to programming languages)

P.S - is there anything in the guidelines that would mean this app idea would be rejected? I know some people have had issues with apps that just hold data, links ect. But a pre-made contacts book, would that be a problem?

Maybe this simple project can help you with populating values on your list and navigating to another view. You can download the source code. It's a simple Objective-C project that displays a list of countries and when selected, opens a new view which displays the flag image of the country.
