Lloyd Roberts is on a distinguished road
Default i need help with a compass style app

hi there everyone
i have never used this forum before, but im seeking some "professional" kinda help

i am aiming to make an application that looks like a compass, but can point to another iPhone in the room. (maybe if they have the same app open at the time)

it is for a project i am doing with product design in school for my A level, and am aiming to get a "buddy find" compass working, then to intergrate this with my current design. if i can get this Application to work, i can prove the theory behind my product, and increase my grade by alot

i dont know the first thing about coding, but have already downloaded the programme Xcode and tried to work with it, but am having no luck so far

i am not asking anyone to make the app for me, but maybe if you could help me with how to write code, or write a portion for me as a guide i would be very appreciative of the help

i assume what will have to happen is that the application would send out a bluetooth message with it's current location (using the 3G connection to find the current location) in it.

Another phone would also have the application which would be sending a similar message out, but also listening for a message to receive.

When it detects the message sent out by the first phone it would read the message and connect to it so that it can keep receiving the current location, then it would compare the first phones location to its own current location and in that way it would be able to point in the direction of the phone???

so it is a basic arrow, pointing towards the other iPhone?

if i havent described this well enough im sorry, just ask me if you have any questions,

thankyou, lloyd
