Interested in the same question.
Can you make a tutorial on this issue?

Take a look at the Crash Landing example app in Apple's example library. This uses SoundEngine.cpp which has functions for loading background music and playing background music. The header is well commented so you'll be able to see what functions you need to use from this. Make sure you include the right frameworks as well (again the frameworks used in that example app should guide you.)

Although that app itself doesn't use the background music functions (it uses the sound effect functions from SoundEngine) it's not difficult to work out (it's only a couple of function calls) and seems to work well.

Thanks for advice,

but it seems it's kinda low level to use OpenAL.
I want just play simple things with AudioToolbox.framework, it is not even necessary to be at bkgd, just simple play-pause-stop stuff.

I checked out Speak Here sample, tried to take part with AudioPlayer, but does not work for me.
I'm sure that it should be some solution.
Any ideas welcome!
