Lightbulb Very New- Need guidance

Hey guys I currently work in networking blahblahblah. Anyway at college I learnt basic Java programming but I've forgotten it years ago and are now looking into getting into programming properly. I've decided that I'd like to get into programming in my spare time and in particular learning to write applications for the iPhone a device which I love to use.

Can anyone help with recommending any books and/or online material that I can read through as an absolute beginner and then offer suggestions on where to progress from there. I'm happy to teach myself from books and tutorials just need a little guidance on where to start really.
Look forward to you help,

Andy

Hi Andy, you got a nice name

For newbies, you can use Java Programming from the beginning by KN King, just search it you will definitely see it somewhere. It's a good self study book choice
