Shameless Plug for the guys at Groupie
Check out the links in my signature and immediately get hooked. Groupie is an iOS app & web based social network that bridges that gap between the networks that we all use every day. There are THOUSANDS of groups on EVERY topic imaginable and if you can't find one...make one. It takes like thirty seconds. I've been hooked since last January.

There are a couple things that make Groupie awesome that you should know about

1) Control your experience - Groupie gives you the tools and you make it your own. A group can be made on virtually any topic and you can start sharing it right away. Every group has it's own URL that you can have your friends, or forum users, link back to. Post pictures, links, full group descriptions, live map for members, etc.
2) Share or don't share what you want - They have a slew of privacy options from being able to share all the groups you are part of with other members or choosing to only share a few with a few groups. Same with your location and profile info.
3) Fame! - It's all about Gamification nowadays and Groupie has that too. Post, get likes, join groups, add to your profile and friends list, provide feedback, virtually everything you do gets you "Fame" points to level up and show your rep to other users.
4) The exact member counts are a secret but we are thinking its somewhere over 50000+ users and 20000+ groups. Growing every day.
