I am trying to start a service that is kind of like Groupon for apps. Here is how the idea would work: I would feature your app on my website with a review about its utility, entertainment value, etc. I would offer the app for a price lower than what it sells for in the App Store for a given amount of time (e.g. three days). Customers of my site would pay me directly an amount that is, for example, $.25 less than the app's price. I would then gift the app to the buyer through iTunes at the normal price. I would recoup that $.25 from you when you get your commission from Apple. I would not make any money if you work with me (I would put up $.25 to make the sale and get $.25 from your commission).
I am in no way saying that your apps are worth less than what they are priced in the App Store. I just think that a lot of people are hungry for discounts and deals out there. You would set the discount amount and pay me the exact amount of that discount for each app that I sell for you. I would be able to prove each sale through a PayPal receipt and an iTunes gift receipt.
I would also keep the review on the website forever for people to browse in the future. This would definitely lead to more sales down the road that would allow you to keep your entire commission.
Again, I am not out to take money from developers. I am simply trying to facilitate more sales. A lower commission is better than no commission at all.

I really think this a good idea for marketing exposure. Think about it: Best case scenario - you have tons of downloads that gets you commissions, word of mouth, reviews, etc. Worst case scenario: no one downloads the app, but you have an awesome review of your app that someone may come across on Google one day.
