If you don't mind sharing what is the ration from free to purchase on your lite version. I have just submitted my first lite app and am curious as to the metrics from lite to purchase conversion. Have you noticed any difference assuming you had the paid app out first.

i suggestion you think add ad in your lite version.
if you lite version has 1000+ downloads every day, add admob ads will be a good choice.

agreed.. I will be switching my lite apps to free full version apps with advertisements soon.
I would have to say yes to that... although i can't be certain
A 'lite' app with ads with the IAP option to upgrade to full and remove ads that I have out now is averaging around 2.15% conversion rate with a 20% CTR. Right now, I'm passing ads to upsell my IAP in conjunction with running ad network ads in the ad zone... works really well to increase user engagement with respect to the ad zone so I get a double benefit: an increase in ad revenue and the bump in revenue from the IAP.
Another app that is a lite -> full is seeing around a 7.5% conversion rate.
I still think that all things held constant, IAP will see a higher conversion rate than the app store upsell.... but will it be higher to offset the 5% linkshare commission? That's something I'm experimenting with.
