Facebook Integration; is it worth it?

Hi all,
At the moment I have been thinking about integrating facebook into my apps to help drive sales and cross promote with my other apps. What i mean by integrate is to have a 'connect to facebook' option when beginning the app that allows the user to use more features, also allowing the user to compare high scores with their facebook friend and post on their wall when they achieve a 'good score'. This can be seen in many of the most successful apps such as Bejeweled Blitz, Slotomania, Words with Friends, etc.

I wanted to see if anyone has attempted to do this in the past, and see if there are any stories people are willing to share about its effectiveness.

We are deciding for this feature also on our new game.
I think it can be really usefull if you can share some valid content, like achievement or somenthing similar. On the other hand we don' t want our app to be a link spammer and beign anoying to user friends on facebook.

So my guess is : ok for the integration, ok by posting content but in a moderate way

Yes, Thanks for your opinion.
I totally agree that not being too aggressive is quite important.
I have noticed many of the top selling game apps have a feature similar to this integrated into their apps, obviously it cannot be clear if they are top selling because of this feature or if they have put in this feature because they are top selling and want to cement their position. Again, I'd love to hear from anyone who has attempted to implement this feature in the past.

You have given such a good promotion technique for any app. Integartion of facebook into the app is really useful to get the nos of viewers.
