Default Google adwords with apps landing page

It's been a year since I used my account but wonder if the big G will even allow promotion of an app on their network? I'm just wondering if it's worth it before I go and make the whole campaign. I know since their last update they've been slapping advertisers left right and center for anything promoting a legit business...

Thanks,

Nigel

I absolutely see nothing wrong with you promoting a landing page via Google Adwords.

So are you actually running campaigns with adwords to your app page?

I personally am not. But what google was slapping was illegitimate businesses such as Affiliate Marketers promoting sneaky rebills offers and such. What you are doing is totally fine.

Awesome thanks for the input guys...so what's better, mobile ads or adwords to my landing page of my app? I mean I'm sure I can figure it out once I get things rolling but would love a heads up.

If you use Google Adwords and link it to the itune app link as a landing page. Your conversion rates will be much lower as it requires multiple steps for the user to install the application. The more steps the user has the lower your conversion rates are.

So simply use a mobile ad and target iOS users as your conversion rates will be higher.

Google Ad words Web > Itune Landing Page > User has to take out his iPhone > User has to open app store > user has to find application > User decides if he wants to install application. (Too many steps which will result in a very poor conversion rate.)

Mobile Ad (Google Admob) > App opens up in App Store > User decides if he wants to install application or not. (Less steps which will give a higher conversion rate).

Also split testing with various banner styles if always recommended! If you have any questions just shoot me a Private Message.

After I started a compain of my app in "adwords" my account was lifetime banned for a reason their support couldn't disclose for security reasons.

However, when I used an advertising company to run the ads on their accounts - it ran okay.

Anyway - don't waste time on either adwords or admob - they generate zero to nothing sales even for free apps unless you have $M budgets. And it will not pay for itself anyway. Will just eat your money.

I think its depend on your thinking and on your budgets. If you have good budgets and if you want to make good competitive apps or game for mobile version then you should to Use both Admob and Adwords.

Admobs gives you good conversion ratio and using Adwords Image Ads on Google networks then It will help you to make good visibility of your Game/Apps over the Internet. It will helps you to crease brand and visibility of your products.

Cheers
