Default Email marketing for your app

H

I found a company which claims to have an email list of 10,000 iPhone users.

Did anyone ever try to promote their app by sending out a direct email campaign?

Default No tried it but...

Hi, i would not recommended it!

I think most of the mails they may send out would, be placed in the spam folder in the receivers mailbox automatically.

But maybe if it is a company that reviews apps, and they send newsletters out every month with the best newest apps (yours app). i would recommended

Thanks for your thoughts.

According to them they collected emails from various sources such as review sites and stuff similar. The email they would send out would be tailored to however I want.

It sounds good but I am just trying to figure out what the conversion rate would be.

I am trying to see if anyone had a similar experience of sending out emails to iPhone users.

Traditional email marketing uptake is around 1-3% conversion rate but it really depends on so many variables.

I'd look at your realisitic ROI aspirations but if it's cheap enough, it may well help spreading the word about your app in general.

As always, this can never be measured - try and get some data and demographics if possible.

I think only email marketing does not hike your conversion ratio, but with email marketing you can do some other activities like, Press Release distribution, submit app to the app directories and app review sites to promote your app.
