I have an app called MRSD wich costs 1.99$, and that app have inApps maps each at 0.99$
I made a free promotion with EcoAppsFree and got 100.000 downloads in a week and about 1000$ in inApp buys. Now app is ranked #20 or better in major countries, since it still remanins free (2 weeks by now, 3000 downloads daily at present time). Note: App sales was 3-6 daily units before the promo. LOL
I just updated the app to next version and included more inApps.
Question is: I am thinking in change again from free to paid when new version releases, since I think that updates will rank again it to paid charts.
Do you think it's a good idea?
Maybe this will boost sales, but I don't want to loose the 3.000 daily downloads with a lot of inApps sales...
What do you do? Keep it free or move to paid.
Any ideas, comments, etc. will be much appreciated!

Interesting promotion channel this EcoAppsFree, never heard of it before. Our app is eco-friendly as well and are tempted to try this. What promotion package did you choose $49.95, $249.95 or $449.95?
Impressive jump in downloads, would like to know how much downloads drop in a few weeks. I would probably keep the app free but add even more in-app purchases.
i think you'll lose all ratings+reviews if you started charging upfront. It's uncertain if your paid app will catch wind.
i would keep making better content (maps, other features) and iterate from there. Try to get hold of your users as well (email address, etc via premium features). Start a conversation and build a community of safe drivers.
