Default Custom Codes expiry

If you generate a Custom Code for the promotion of an App for people to download for free I understand that the code has an expiry date of four weeks after its generation. If the code is not used though does that mean that it goes back into your allowance of custom codes or does it still count as one deducted from your allowance of 50?

It's gone ... but within the first 4 weeks you should probably update your app at least once if not twice, and that will reset your codes back to 50. And since the first codes haven't expired, they are still good for your new version.

So does that mean for each version you get 50 codes even if the previous version had used all of its codes?

Yes, that is exactly what it means. You get 50 promocodes per version of your app, but they do all expire in 30 days. My advice, is to use them, you'll get more!
