Do you have any idea how can one make his app appear in What's hot?
Appearing in What's hot can drive a good amount of downloads and that's why I think is worth the struggle.

Sub-category What's Hot doesn't mean anything for increasing downloads.
It basically means you already got a certain amount of downloads, so I think you are thinking about it the wrong way.

Overall What's Hot can increase downloads, but usually you have already been New and Noteworthy then move into What's Hot.

These days it seems like they are only choosing "cute" games in the N&N.

so if they handpick the Apps in N&N what about The best games you never played and other categories? are they also handpicked?
is there any algorithm at all?
did they(apple) ever heard about google search algorithm? ( joking )

I mean when human factor (subjectivity ) is being involved I don't think is fair.

and if it is so(that they handpick), how can one make his game be handpicked by apple stuff?
- you write them a note and ask to include your app in N&N or TBGYNP?
- you make an ad campaign and target apple stuff with the hope that they will notice your app and decide to list it in N&N?
Do you think there is a way that one can influence being handpicked?


I think there should be a way new and not well known apps to be listed in some categories that have more visibility.
