Hi, i've created an app that I think would be a great halloween app.
I've noticed on the USA app store there is a "Halloween" apps featured section. I've also noticed all around the web in 2010 in the weeks leading up to halloween, lots of websites started doing articles on "Halloween Apps".
I was hoping to get my app some exposure in regards to Halloween. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions to do this? Ideally, getting journalists eyes on my app as they are preparing to write their "Halloween Apps" piece etc.
I'm new to the promoting game, so was hoping someone could spare some knowledge and techniques for doing this.
I guess I could blindly cold email every site/writer I see who 'mite' write a Halloween piece, but are there any strategies to build exposure and connections that would make it more likely to get my app talked about in regards to Halloween?
No real strategy. App was just released, I've done the usual Facebook posts. Some forum posts where they are allowed and emailing promo codes to review sites and related websites that might be interested in the app...
I've tried admob ads before on a separate app on a limited budget and realised that it doesn't work.
I think my app is worth mentioning as something great for Halloween and hence I'm trying to get some ideas on promoting it for that.
Hi Gametrender I just released a Halloween app "Aargh! Which Pumpkin?!"

If you or any other developers want your apps to be featured then just let me know-it's free publicity for me and I'm sure you'll become followers of the blog and Twitter account etc. making me happy too as Gametrender's popularity grows.
I've adapted some of your own words to feature in my article-I'll also Twitter about you shortly too-best of luck . The article: | Gametrender
