Icon feedback needed - POLL for choosing icon
First i want to say that i`m a long time reader of this great forum, but now i decided to register and share my story.
I`m a new developer on iOS platform, and i want to try my luck in appstore.
The app is currently about 70% finished ( also outsourced a part of the code ).
I`ll not share now more info about the app, i just want feedback about the icon.
A great icon will boost sales for sure, so here it is !
Please tell me what you like, don`t like, and what the icon say about the app (category, what the app can do,etc).
Thank you for your time.

i like it. It has a nice "glassy" effect to it. Unfortunately I'm not much of a designer so that's all I can say really
If I had to guess, I'd say it's something to do with networking, sharing or involves making some sort of communication wirelessly.

I would think, your app displays my iPhone screen to my monitor using wifi.
If that is what your app does, it is cool. If not, then I don't know, what it does
Maybe a remote control...
Anyway. I think the grey background needs some extra touch somehow. It looks unfinished for me with the sharp edges and the simple color.

yeah, would be cool to display the screen on monitor
Is a wifi streaming app, more details later
. Anyway will be on a market segment where you can count the good apps with the fingers from one hand...
You mean the background of the monitor ?

I mean the background of the icon itself.

I think the rendering is nice, but I'm not sure about the symbol within the monitor concept. Render it at 57x57 pixels and I bet it will be hard to tell what is displayed in the monitor.
Hard to judge whether or not the icon is appropriate, w/o knowing the purpose of your app.

is pixel perfect on iphone 3gs screen too. You can see the icon very clear.
The app will stream "stuff" to TV.

If i could throw in a suggestion...
I would do a front orthoganol view of a TV similar to the YouTube icon, but a more modern tv. Then either have a remote pointing at it with your wifi graphic, or possibly just that blue wifi graphic embedded in the tv screen.

It looks okay to me. It's clean and simple. However, I'm not sure of what to expect of the app.

Clean and simple is usually better. Especially at 57 PX. I is fine for a whatever it is perhaps.
The real question on these things is always what apps it will end up next too in search results. If you are lucky what will it be next to on lists.
It's a clean image the graphic design is fine. Without knowing the product definition and features I can't say if you are communicating it well.

Too simple
I agree its too simple. You need to add more details. To much light that blur the screen. Just a personal opinion.

I voted! Hope that helps... seems like I'm in the same boat as everyone else. That top choice has excellent taste. A very classy, tasteful design.
