we have get our new Match Pairs game approved by AppStore and then thought that it would be also probably useful to prepare Demo Video on YouTube for it.
Basically we have done it relative straight forward within half an hour using only free tools availabe.
Nevertheless, the question is of course if it really make sense to spend time on such kind of videos and especially doing them more professional?
would be great if someone can give any hints on this topic.
I haven't done an App demo video (yet), but have done other videos. Some comments/suggestions:
1. Where's the audio? I finally heard some SFX about :30 secs into it, but you really need some captivating audio right from the start. The video feels very empty without more audio. And I would definitely get a fun, lively music track to run under the whole thing. Go to the stock audio online houses. Start with AudioJungle.
2. Can you zoom in? I can't read anything on the normal view, and full frame is too blurry.
3. It feels about 2x too long like this. I'd cut it in half.
4. Where's the Call to Action? Which leads to: What's your strategy and how does the video fit into your marketing plan? If you want to embed this video in websites and blogs, then you need to have a clear call to action at least at the end. IOW, you have to tell people what you want them to do, i.e., buy the app!

It's super slick and super-pro, but can you feel the difference? You don't have to go that far (or that expense), but you can do your version of that. Notice the music track and the Call to Action at the end.
Well, that's a difficult one! You'll have to decide that!
I suppose the OP could re-do it professionally if it started getting a bit of attention. But the video itself actually looks pretty good, only too long (as someone else said)

Hope this helps.

Thank you Haraldo for your feedback!
we will update our Demo Video because some of some of them for sure!
* Intro screen has a news hook ("It's new") and says what it's about.
* Lively music adds a LOT of ambiance. (good to bring down volume to hear SFX) Music a bit repetitive without more movements (different riffs). But it's OK.
* Adding captions at bottom really helps to explain things!
* Still seems too long (do you need to show all these variations?). If it were me, I'd bring it down to 1 min or so.
thank you very much for you feedback!
this is was very important tips for us!

Agree with H. Needs to be about half as long as you made it. Once I watched one puzzle to completion, I knew what it was about. I didn't need to see two puzzles to completion. Too much time is wasted in the menu as well. Good job overall.
first of all I would like to thank you all for your important and significant feedback on this topic:
we have review our demo video and cut it partly to shorten the overall time. Think it should be Ok right now: YouTube - Match Pairs - New Memory Game for Kids for iPad
