Default The Free app for a day experiment!!!

Hello all, i want to share my last experience with you... i' m trying to make a 0,79 app free for a day without doing any type of promotion except for the free ones like FB, forum post, and twitter.

I want to see how many downloads i can get with it. Usually my application is around 5 downloads days... now let' s see..

As long as UK and US go up it's good, the other countries don't really matter I reckon you will get around 1.5k downloads today.

this experiment serve me to decide if the free version of this game can be released with all levels playable...

I don't know the number i've to expect... if it's around 1500 then my free version will get the full feature with adds, else it will stay with only one level...

After 5 hour US is going UP...

Well, the experiment is just about that... i haven't paid for promotion, i used just some forum, twitter and FB all from myself... no one reviewd the app or proposed it as free...

When the experiment will end i' ll post all the experience...

This is the final result in US Store. The graph ends when the apps raised the 0.99$ again...

as soon as they appear on ITC i' ll post the number.

the strange things is that noone appeared on the gamecenter ranking...

Hmmm that might be because most of them just installed and deleted straight away? (Bad case scenario)

You mean zero,nada,niente,nien new users on gamecenter?

Bear in mind that going to top 200-ish in US free games in your category could well mean around 40/50 copies, so might be that the overall you havent got enough traction to get "real interested"users to play the game.

Still, a real 0 is odd.

Bah really can't undestand... game center update in the game happen at the first run... also if you don't like or you score 0 you will get posted on gamecenter... and when the game was released with 40 download i got 14 players on game center... I think yesterday there was somenthing bad with it...

Do you have any in-app purchases in that app? If not, you most likely won't see any increase in actual sales.

I haven' t made the experiment to get an increase on the sales or revenue. I' ve made it to let me know if a free version with all the feature enabled can generate more dowload then the actual one. And then, today i' ve uploaded the free version with all the feature enabled and some little ads to get some revenue from it.
