I haven`t sold any app till now but for me it was interesting to take part at some of the creating apps contest held all the time. To get an first insight from the economic point of view it can be usefull. I had the possibility to meet not only other developer but also to get in touch with provider and deviceproducer. So this can also be used as a starting point.
