Default We have a cool free app, ready to invest in promotion.

So we are done with our FREE app an plan to release it very soon
This is our first free app and we would like to move it to the TOP

I checked some of the information available and found that some agencies offer TOP 25 in 2-3 days. Prices vary from 2000 USD to 10 000 USD.

Can you advice who to contact and how to promote the app, taking into consideration that we have a budget approximately 2500 - 5000 USD.

I know that some offer advertising throught their app networks
Other put your banner in their free app - FAAD, Game Giveaway
But what works?

Thanks in advance
Alexander

I was very tempted to do faap but didnt have the budget to do so... quick tip: if you say you "can't afford" the amount they are asking they will bring it down once or twice with a "special offer"

Thanks for the tip
how much did they ask?
and are they really that good?
I assume they have around 500 000 app users, how many of those actually click on the link to your app?

On average

Not sure if any free app is worth spending that much money on.

Why not just submit it, and wait a few weeks. If its good, people will naturally download it. Then go for the advertising. It may not make a difference if its in the store a few weeks already before you promote it. May also give you a chance to fix problems that come up.

I think it started at $2500 and the final offer was $1500

Yeah, no doubt that a good app, especially a good free app will sell it itself, but most likely a good and free app with additional support will do better

Default Tapjoy

Have you looked into the mobile advertising platform Tapjoy? They are a leader in app distribution and work on a pay per performance model. It worked for me and it was really reasonable for the volume I got. Contact this guy:

trevor.campbell@tapjoy.com

Good luck!

Hello,

Before start spending money on App Marketing, First you should to make sure about your targeted audience. Then Make plan for Free App marketing stuffs like you can Use Social Media Marketing Stuffs, SEO and etc.

If you will get good amount of downloading and people know about your apps then start Paid Marketing campaign. It will help you. And if you will get good amount of downloading in Free Campaign then i don't think so you should to spend lots bugs on this.

Cheers

Hi Alexander,

We've used FAAD for one of our AppZilla apps and saw good results. I would stay away from any service that promises top 25 ranking. While their services may achieve that, many use practices that apple frowns upon, and it could cause you to lose your developer license and have your apps pulled from the store. There are plenty of straight promotional and advertising networks out there who can certainly help in a legitimate way. You just need to test a few out to determine which works for your app and your budget.

If you are interested in a low-cost way to get good exposure for your apps, then I'd like to suggest our own promotional service- The AppZilla Showcase. The showcase is a special section within each of our 3 AppZilla products where we feature 12 apps by 3rd party developers. When a user taps on your app icon within appzilla, they are presented with your app description, price, ratings average, screenshots, and YouTube movie. Then a simple button tap will take them directly to your itunes page for purchase or download. You can find more information at our website linked below. Here you can check availability, campaign length and pricing information, and also make reservations to feature your app. The process is pretty simple but if you have any questions feel free to email us at the address below. Hope this helps!

Try Tap for Tap. It's a free exchange for app promotion...

Wooooo, slow down. You can get PR for less than that. What's with the thousands of pounds. Check out some other options first.

Agreed. I'd say explore the free options before spending all that money. If they can really get you to the top 25, then they can still do it later

Plus it will give you time to make sure your app is newsworthy, work on bugs you could get or just making your app better.

Hey,

As your launching free app then I suggest you that, don’t go with paid marketing in first month. just market your app over Social Media Platforms and yah you can do paid press release which is really good for your company and your app. Submit your apps app reviews websites.

Just watch it out how much downloads you get from free marketing. Then you go for paid advertisement.

I think it will help you to get user test & interest for your apps.

Cheers
