My take on that is that unless you are releasing Call of Duty, it's better to spread them over a period of time (and constantly).
A little bit every time it will give time to word of mouth to spread, while if you do it all in one go you'll get just that single day push.
Another "analytics" advantage of doing it step by step is that you can "measure" how effective the tool you've used is, ie what's the impact after the video, what's the impact after the reviews, what's the impact after the
PR etc...
Also remember that it's a marathon not a 100meters sprint.
Unless you've got a big budget then the dynamics will be much different.
