I think twitter is a better way to have more reach with tech related stuff like apps. FB is more like personal social where twitter is more search social. You need both though IMO
it absolutely depends on the superior of followers you get on both. We accept a few Twitter followers that are great, consistently interacting and retweeting. We aswell accept a accomplished crapload of followers that I'm appealing abiding accept never apprehend a individual one of our tweets.
Actually technical people they used to review the technical contents in twitter only. Because Facebook is maximum fun oriented. Whatever about the past facebook is going to close with coming march. So no choice better to move with twitter. all the best
You want both, but I'd absolutely go for Twitter. It's a great way to get the word out. We had a sale in August and all we did was tweet about it and ask for retweets and we got an large increase in sales just from the twitter sphere.
That said, our market is mainly devs and technical people (at least for AV), so your mileage may vary using Twitter to sell to non-techs.
I am also in the initial position for my iphone app. I prefer twitter for this but dont know exactly how to get better sale through it.. You mentioned that you did promotion through tweets and got bunch of sale .... could you tell me about that ... i mean how did u do that?

I use a personal Twitter + Facebook for personal branding and talking to friends.
Recently launched company Twitter (@motivapps) for building a dialogue with potential customers (iOS devs interested in marketing, it's also attached to the facebook page, but I rarely use it.
I'm also implementing a "Tweet" button in my aps - if users like app (or would like to get an additional level in a game), they can tweet about it using the default iOS5 dialogue. My first apps with this functionality will hit the store this week, so I'll share the results
I hope that 1% of users who get the free version of an app tweet about it. We'll see how it goes...
What I don't do:
- Facebook integration. It's a little harder than Twitter, and as an indie dev I don't have the time for implementing it well.
- Twitter account per app - I don't imagine how I could effectively manage 10 various accounts. Doing just one well is hard enough.
- Company Facebook account - I forward posts from Twitter, but that's it
One final thing I did. I created a *closed* facebook group, called "Motivapp Advisors" with around 10 people who are close to the company - I put there some tasty bits (sales stats, etc), and ask for a high quality business feedback.

Facebook and Twitter both are important social networking websites because both are have huge number of users on their websites and both are use for increase the traffic of your website and popular your products, business.. etc.
Difference between Facebook and Twitter
Facebook:
* Have highest users on their website
* Provide many services like Page creation, Group creation.. etc.
* You can target any age and any type of people like children, boys, young, girls.. etc, for your product.. etc
* You can post images, links.. etc related to your business.. etc.
* You can post a big description about 300-400 characters
Twitter:
* You can post 140 characters
* You can post images, links, description.. etc
* Provide quality traffic on your website.. etc
I will use both. But your Twitter and Facebook profiles should have decent no. of followers and fans to your profiles. Only then you can easily market your app or products.
Twitter and Facebook are great but they both take commitment and time, I think I am going to hire someone to handle some of the social networking for me.
