Default Where is the best place to advertise apps?

In terms of value for money?

For games, i guess it is TA. But how about apps. Anybody has any pointers to share?

I mean advertising in terms of putting a banner (and not reviews/pr).

Thanks in advance.

Maybe give AppAdvice.com and appsafari.com a go. I think a 125x125 ad is $75 a month if I remember correctly.

I used a 468X68 Ad banner in iPhonefootprint. It cost me about $150 but I got good number of downloads.

App Safari and iPhoneBuzz are other great sources to make profit from.(look out for 125X125 banners)

I once promoted an app for one of my clients by putting it on an affiliate network which pays mobile affiliate marketers for every app sale / download they generate.

If you have a paid app, you should try this out ;-)

Well you can market your app on facebook and youtube easily by creating a video using Camtasia. Record a videos which shows the functions of your app and then send it to your friends.

Do you talk about Flurry or some other affilliate? Cos Flurry gives us almost no buyers....

The signature is a good move. I get a lot of visits just through the signature on MacRumors. You might want to try advertising on an iPhone directory site, or on other Apple rumor sites. You'd have to see which gets you the best bang for your buck and click-through rate. I'm sure you can start off small, maybe a few hundred dollars, and see how well each site goes.

Make sure you also have a site set up, so Google and Yahoo can index it and people can reference it when they talk about your application. Mention any press reviews on your site.

Other ways would be to send out an email to blogs and sites that review phones.
