Default Reviews vs. Units Sold ratio: any wild guesses?

Hi all, first post here.

Any rules of thumb out there on how to guesstimate the number of units sold of an app based on how many reviews it has received? I know that the reviews represent a minority of app customers, but how much of a minority?

I'm sure it's been asked before, did my best to search before adding another post...

Thanks!

it really depends, to take an example, Facebook app has all versions rating of 1.1million! now I'm not sure how many people have downloaded Facebook but I'm guessing like at least 15 million

on the other hand my app got like 5000 downloads where it has only 48 ratings and 16 reviews.

I heard it was actually really small. I have no numbers/proof to back it up but a friend of mine got some statistics from a company and they said it was like 1-3%. So around 1-3% of the user's who download an App actually review/rate it.

This was the number around a year ago...so maybe things have changed. Developers now know that more reviews help increase sales so I would bet the number is a bit higher now.
