I would suggest investing just like 40 bucks into facebook advertising, I did it for my thirty one fanpage and it really helped get it going. Just run a 4-day campaign where you pay for clicks only, 10 dollars a day for 4 days. Have the clicks go to your fanpage and then from your fanpage make sure there is an easy way to click on to the appstore.
None of you happen to have a way to directly make people fans of your facebook in your app do you? Been looking for a way to implement that.
I have a link to my app's Facebook page in my "About" tab, which opens up a UIWebView, which has a button in the navigation bar to open it in Safari. I think that's about as close as it can get right now, possibly short of going through some kind of integration directly with Facebook's API... not sure on the details of that, though.
The Facebook iPhone app has some built-in but unsupported URL routing (go to fb://profile in safari on your iPhone, assuming you have the Facebook app installed.) However, there's no way to direct a user to a particular Facebook page. I hope Facebook implements this at some point.
I've been searching high and low for that one too... i still think it's somewhere in the weeds of fb connect. the fbrofile thing will let you bring up a person's profile but dies on a fan page.

Yeah; its gotta be in there. It seems like all you would need is like the id of the page you want to fan and the users credentials (which are already there if your logged in).
What kind of FB pages is everyone creating? Is there a benefit to using one type over another?
What I mean is, I see some creating "game" pages, others creating "product/service" pages, and others creating "brand/company" pages.
If my app is an "entertainment" app in the App Store...I'm not sure where to put it on FB really. I'm thinking "product"?
I think the only difference is that they change the page a little. I think for "products" and some other kinds, they allow users to "review," which is a feature most facebook users don't use anyway unless you have like hundreds of thousands or more followers.
So in short, it probably doesn't really matter, as far as I know. I've had trouble deciding which one to pick in the past also, but I don't think it's really that big of a deal.

Actually I think what type of page you create has an impact for what fields you have available in your 'Info' tab. Might be worth checking out what fields you want and what types give you what.
Yeah, I was debating whether or not to make my page a "game" or not. My app mimics a pet simulator game but it really isn't a game...so I ended up just making it a technology product/service. They should just make an app category already...I mean they already have a website category.

Another question about facebook pages...or well facebook advertising. I'm thinking of making a Facebook Ad (seems simple enough), but I'm debating whether to just make an Ad for my App's Website or whether to make an Ad for my facebook App Page.
