I know a lot has remained a mystery as far as how Apple chooses their Hottest Apps and Featured Apps, but I was wondering if anyone knew anyways to exploit the App Store Genius to get YOUR app related to OTHER apps.
Genius: likely just looks for apps with similar keywords
As far as lists on the main page go, it is at apple's discretion. Have a good all around app. The more you update the more you are probably likely to be noticed and chosen for one of those lists.
I assume apple do a little more than just looking for apps with the same keywords.
Like the music genius, they most likely also match users who have similar purchase histories, and then grab their recommendations from there - collaborative filtering. It would seem pretty hard to 'exploit' this.

It has a lot to do with what apps customers also bought. Not sure how you can manipulate that.
