That's about the bare minimum I expected from the alliance.
No spapps. Not a Corp (individual or very small team max 4)
the forcing of the logo IMHO becomes corporate. I trully believe in cross promotion and I think this is key.
To me it seems it's becoming an elite alliance.
Indie to me is.
"I am indie. I am amateur. I work for myself"
Yup, that is my idea, initially too. But I have no control over what's required at IAA though. We can still continue with our 'fellowship' too, aside from IAA.
I am interested in the alliance as well as the Fellowship.
Actually I don't understand what benefit I'll get from the IAA API.
@rocotilos If you continiue the fellowship I'd like to be in

Yup, i find no harm in just continuing the 'fellowship' (link exchange btw non spam indie devs), temporarily now its named as IAA (but it is not since IAA is a totally different approach).
I'll make another icon for this 'fellowship' and a new name for it too. And anyone interested in this (just a link exchange in websites), then just shoot in here.

This IAA API mechanism is quite similar to cross promotion system in OpenFeint or AppCircle.
I'm still not sure what makes IAA differ from these system made by OpenFeint, AppCircle, or any other companies who already had big brands.
I think that the difference in the commercial world, money is the compensation for elitist behavior. What Piero needs to do is open up the App Review process, probably discuss it in a thread, so it will have more votes and opinions from the members.
Another problem is the site hasn't been able to gain lots of traffic and members from what I had seen.
Writing code is not only about writing instructions to a machine / computer, but also about writing something that could be read, understood, and maintained by others. That's why, I like Cocoa.

NOTE TO ALL MEMBERS OF THE FELLOWSHIP (LATER WILL CHANGE NAME FOR THIS FELLOWSHIP), I AM CREATING SOMETHING NEW FOR US, THAT I THINK IS BETTER THAN LINKS ON MY WEBSITE.
Sorry I haven't checked this thread in a while, I thought I would receive feedbacks directly on the IAA forum.
The issue of the Splash screen came up with other people too, so we've opted to set this rule: the logo has to be included in the Default.png and nowhere else. A splash screen is still recommended but not is not mandatory.
I hope to finish the first beta of the IAA Network around the middle of March. Then I'll submit to Apple and I'll cross my fingers
If you haven't submit your apps for evaluation on the website, please do. When the IAA Network is done it needs some apps to fill in the content, otherwise Apple will be likely to disapprove it because it doesn't have any content.
I am not saying this group's apps are the best either, but we are serious in giving nice apps, rather than 5 photos of Megan Fox for USD4.99, etc (u know the drill).
Precisely. The goal is to have a brand name that groups together quality apps. None will ever say they represent the "best apps".

2. Whenever one is in any kind group, there ought to be some kind of regulations to follow, because without rules, it will just be another version of App Store.
If any of this initial rules brings problem to you, please voice it out in here
Yes, and as I wrote in several pages, it is very hard to give an opinion about an app. It is even harder to press the "reject" button if I see that the minimum requirements, under my interpretation, are not met. Please speak out if there's anything in my judgment that you think it should be revised.
Does it come
down to one person's opinion/interpretation of the 'rules'?
Being the Alliance at its preliminary stage of life, it is up to myself to review all the apps that are submitted. But as I'll get to know people who join the Alliance and I'll know that I can trust their decisions I will certainly give reviewing rights to more persons. I could not incorporate everybody into the decision process for the simple reason that it would make the process too long. Maybe I could open a section in the forum where reviewers could ask the opinion of everybody about an app. That way the reviewer could hear the opinion of a neutral audience and finally make a decision.
I'm still not sure what makes IAA differ from these system made by OpenFeint, AppCircle, or any other companies who already had big brands.
I haven't really explored the features of OpenFeint and AppCircle, but what is certainly unique about the IAA that will make the difference, is that the apps part of the network are guaranteed to be of quality. Anybody can join OpenFeint or AppCircle. The IAA Network will try to be an "elite network of indie apps".

If the website becomes successful opening a thread for every app would slow down the review process by a lot... but maybe a thread can be opened whenever there's a though decision to make about a review.

I've been working with Ken (the head guy at MindJuice) on a press release that I will send soon to several channels of distribution. I will also start contacting potential developers to see if they would want to join.
Sorry for all these posts (should I have replied all in one post?)
Here's a sneak peak promo video of my updated game Giftopia.
The game was originally disallowed into the IIA, so a lot of effort has been put into the graphics and gameplay.
(Graphics are still in the process of being finalized and will vary in final from the video) Giftopia Trailer sample on Vimeo
Here's a sneak peak promo video of my updated game Giftopia.
I see a lot of improvements in the graphics! Good job. As a final user I really would hope that you are taking some time to work on the controls as well.

Yes controls are being addressed as part of the re-vamp along with some additional docco/demo
Check it out. What I plan to do is something like iphoneappsindex.com or
iphoneappsreview.com. But at the moment, I will post the apps info on it.
The rules for posting about an app is simple, submit to me the app icon 57x57. Then give me a link to your app Primary screenshot. Then write a sort of "press release" description (One paragraph of <= 10 lines). Dont just copy your app description though. Write as if you are a reporter telling people about your app.
Later, will be doing some SEO on this site. And of course, it will help if you tweet about this site too.
Any other indie sites admin who want to colaborate (like putting links i guess), feel free to pm me, or just reply in this thread.
Any other indie devs wants to join this, just shout with your logo + link.
Ok, need some feedback from members of IAI Coalition.
Check out the blog, I just posted about my app there. That is basically my idea of the format to post about our apps. What else do you think should be included? Your feedback is needed, and if it can be implemented, then i will include it too.
So basically, any of the members wants your apps page to be posted there, you just need to send me
1. a 57x57 icon of the app, (actual image file, i dont want links)
2. app name,
3. short description, (like 15 words sentence or less) that describe ur app the best.
4. price info,
5. itunes links
6. primary screenshot. (this i will just take from itunes page, so no need to send to me)
For those members of IAI who want to spread the words about IAI, can put the links by pasting below HTML codes into main page of your website (or somewhere). This is not mandatory, but it helps to promote other indie apps.

No problem, Piero.
Anyway, I just realized there's another coalition "IAI".
I decided to directly use the IAA logo and URL in my website, and resigned from IAI membership. If Emir want to remove my link from the member list, it's fine. I'm just too overwhelmed with so many link-sharing.
