Default New app search engine + free developer profiles

Just took off the wrapper - still a beta but getting some nice coverage:
"Startup's ambitious mission - to be 'The Google of iPhone Apps'" (TechFlash)

To find + claim your developer profile, just search for your apps and click through on the "publisher" link (or select "Developers" in the search drop-down)

A little extra free exposure never hurts...

Cool Idea; but I'm having trouble claiming my page. I've pasted the appropriate code in and is saying the claim is "unsuccessful" when I try to verify. If I view source on the page that it is trying to verify I clearly see the comment there so I am unsure what the issue is. Thanks.

Hey scotopia - thanks for checking it out and sorry for the difficulty. Will figure out what's up and come back with an update shortly.

Thanks; in case it might be causing the problem the page you have is actually a redirect... ie. Omegasoft - The Last Word In iPhone Entertainment actually redirects to Omegasoft - The Last Word In iPhone Entertainment
Not sure if this could cause the issue but I figured it's worth mentioning.

Also, once the page is claimed can I remove the comment or should it remain there indefinitely (just curious). Thanks!

Do you see a possible problem with users claiming Apps that they didn't develop?

I have not registered for your site and not sure how it really works, but would hate to find out after I release my App that some body on your website shows that they own the App that I developed.

just curious...

Default Pretty strict requirements to claim

Hi Retnuh - great question and one we think we've addressed with a strict claim procedure - owners have to embed a code comment on their site to complete the process (pretty hard to spoof). LMK if concerns about that approach / suggestions for other methods, but we share your concern and have taken steps to prevent it.

Okay, sounds good. When I release my App, I will check out your website and give it a try.

Thanks...

I have the same redirect problem....

It looks like once the app is claimed then the html comment code can be removed...or at least that's what I'm seeing.

Ahh so it is the redirect. A quick solution for us while you figure things out would be to just email us from our website links and we'll email you back with our login for your site or some such so you can flag us as claimed.
