Dozens. Most of them are complete cr@p ... but that's kinda the point. You have to disable the circuitry that's been beat into your brain by school, parents, church, state, etc.
You should always have something with you at all times to record your ideas (I use a notepad app on my phone - it way beats the index card system I had before) because inspiration can strike at any moment. Like when you wonder "how much freaking money is the federal govt wasting on this project?" - and so you write down the idea ... and a month later you're reviewing these notes and you go "Yeah! Let's code this sucker".
A lot of good app ideas will come from scratching an itch - in other words, something ticks you off (does it make sense that you can lose at computer-based solitaire games?), or you feel you can score points (political, party, sex, whatever) with graphically organized data, or you find yourself doing the same monkey tasks at every turn.
Pay attention to what people are saying around you. Not what you THINK they are saying - not even what THEY think they are saying. The actual words coming out of their mouths will reveal a lot. They will accuse you of "stealing" their idea - ignore their bleating, you can't steal an idea. How many Tic-Tac-Toe does the App Store need? Apparently hundreds! "Angry Birds" may have 133 million hits on Google, but "Angry Plasmid" weighs in with 342! There's a market! (or not)
Last - look at all the free data is released by the government (all levels - federal, state, county, city, neighborhood, HOA) and companies. A few weeks after a Farmer's Market dataset went live on data.gov some dude had an app out that displayed it. Heck, there's a real sucky (my opinion) FDIC failed bank database app selling for 99 cents - the data's free and this dude is just begging to have his lunch money stolen!
But anyway ... reaching into my Grab Bag of Stupidity (tm):
1. Dog Walker - an app for dog walkers that tracks appointments and uses GPS and camera to provide a "proof record" for those especially annoying clients who like to question everything
2. Shoe-sizer - calculate shoe size through a photo of a foot
3. Raffle-Aide - let people know what numbers were selected, what prizes have been won, and so forth
4. IRS Form 990 - approached on the street by someone asking you to contribute money to a charity? Look 'em up!
So ... 4 random picks from the Grab Bag of Stupidity (tm), plus a few more besides. Knock yourself out
