what software is used to develop android apps? Like xcode is for IOS.

The programming language is Java. As for Android overtaking Apple, perhaps but unlikely anytime soon. Also, there's still the problem of device fragmentation. You'll have a massive headache trying to choose which devices to support and testing on all the possible Android devices out there. You'll also need to do market research on the most popular Android devices, the user base that use those devices, etc. etc.

Hello dennno.. can u tell me 1 thing. Mostly, Android applications are written in Java. But i heard that its also possible to use Scala or some other languages. And I also read that it's possible to include native C/C++ code.

Is there a refernce/list available that shows which languages can be used?
