Those Wallet Apps, Safe?

Ok, I am looking for some wallet app, but I can't help to be super paranoid of their operation

I mean how can I know that the dev are not running some background function to send the userIds and passwords to their little phone-home server??


I am thinking to make a wallet app myself though, just for personal use.
Does any of u use a wallet app?

I use SplashID, which I started using on PalmOS many years ago. Overall it's a good app, and worth checking out. Or at least looking up comparison reviews on the web to see how it stacks up to similar apps... which I've never actually done. I think I did that before buying it for PalmOS all those years ago, but when I saw it on the App Store I just bought it without researching.

There is also a Mac OS X (and perhaps Windows? I think?) desktop component (paid) to the app. You don't need the desktop app to use the iOS app, or vice versa, but if you have both, they will sync your data. Downside is that when they do major updates to the apps, if you don't upgrade the desktop app (and pay an extra upgrade fee to do so), then the sync capability breaks.
