If you are thinking this is good for app developers ask the old timers around here and they'll tell you 2009 was the best year. More devices is great but it just invites more competition from the big boys. Harder now than ever for us indies.

Hmm I guess it'll benefit us indie developers though. Non-iPhone users deciding they want switch to the new iPhone 5. Then the new iPhone users want to 'play' about with their new device by browsing the App store and downloading our apps . The average user wouldn't fork out a lot of money and not 'play' with their device but hey least it'll increase the consumers on the App Store.
Maybe ur right but the app store is a very different place now. Look at the top 200 overall rankings how many of those are TRUE indie devs? Not many. The pie is getting bigger but there are also more eaters, and some of them are freaking massive

Yeah what about Andreas Illiger - The guy who made Tiny Wings. He made a strong app. Thats still in the top 25 overall, it's been there for ages. But I do agree with all the monster companies. But least Apple treat indies and companies the same, like we both have to go through the same process to get our app approved. I guess the more time you put into your app, the more you make it good, more the higher chance of getting into that top 200 overall ranking. But I think afew of the high high companies who make apps have pulled afew strings to better themselves on the app store.
I would absolutely love to see the next iPhone on Sprint and T-Mobile. That would be great.
BUT, if this were to happen...I'd expect to see the next iPhone having 4G network capabilities. Or at least whatever carriers call their 3.5G
I have read reports about Apple ordering 10 million copies of the next generation iPhone...and wanting to sell every one before 2011 ends. WOW! If this is true, I'm expecting quite a bit of a sales increase. Not to mention the iPod Touch, which will, as always, be successful and sell millions.
