Thought from a bleeding nation
Hi
I've been a passive user of this forum for a time now and finally got to register. This summer was supposed to be a happy time: I’ve outsourced development of two apps, just bought the MBA so I can try to do some programming myself (I have only had a basic course in C++ many years ago). I was so eager to see my business plan come to life and had high hope for success.
Today was supposed to be a day of great celebration as my first app is sent to AppStore, but be the time Apple is receiving my app I will be marching with 100.000 fellow Norwegians to express our sorrow of Friday’s happenings.
It all seems so pointless, the fight with developers, testing, find new solutions, writing specs and descriptions.
The app that will be sent to AppStore today was supposed to be an app to promote my girlfriends blog, will now drown in the news of a mad man ripping out my nation heart. Every single face I see I can see a black cloud of sorrow, hate and fear surrounding their soul.
So why do I write this post you might ask yourself? I just want you to know that making apps is a really fun and joyful work, hoping for success, using you creativity along with your programming skills, visions and the thought of creating the smile of the users of the app. But there are more important things in life, and if you don’t succeed, it’s ok. You family and friends are still there, so take off call someone love and tell them how important they are, maybe you should call a friend you haven’t seen in a while and meet up for at catch up.
PS: None of my friends or family was directly affected by Friday’s incidents, but been part of a bleeding nation is still a heavy burden.
Take Care…
