The statistics made by Analysys International shows that the market scale of Chinese web games reaches 1027million yuan in the first season of 2011. The web game market enlarges rapidly in the first season affected by the seasonal factor, which mainly motivated by the transformation from traditional Internet service to the platform by the providers.
Undoubtely, 1 billion, sounds so tempting! However, is it really one new beginging for Chinese web games market?
a) with a population of 1.3 billion you are saying that 1 billion chinese people are playing on the internet? i dont think tat many have the internet let alone the will to play games on the internet. Consider the ageing population of China most people are, without being horrible, old and "out of touch with technology" the same as here in the UK - it would be like saying the UK has a 50million web based gamer market - no chance not with all the people too old or too young to play. So i am sceptical of that claim
b) why should it matter? The gaming market is massive world wide. Everything is released worldwide these days - even if its not i can be and most likely will be hacked to work world wide so people are aware of the market size and aware of the huge growth that market sees year to year.
c) not many of the people that frequent this website are that bothered about the Off-Topic look at most of the posts they arent exactly bursting with replies.
Consider it passed on info that people have taken on board but have too much to do to sit and think on it for that long. I have topics, ons in off topic and ones that i really really needed iOS dev help with that havnt had responses at all - such is the way of life, what interests me doesnt necessarily interest you or anyone else here - hell people probably think im a boring annoying person.
