Any way to terminate all apps in background?

I have an iPhone4. Sometimes some apps are crashing due to some reason, but when I terminate all apps in the bacground, the said app does not crash anymore.

So Im wondering are there any way (like an app or undocumented steps) to terminate all apps at a push of ONE button? For a non JB iPhone4.

And if there are no such app, is it even possible, programmatically? Id like an app to do that, so even if it is undocumented API, id like to make it and install as an AdHoc.

Tired of tapping the "-" buttons one by one when there are like, 50 of background apps..

terminate an app w\o jailbreak? I don't think you have enough permissions

however should be something like

kill( pidOfAppToClose, SIGINT );

you can retrieve pid (and filter it) using ps
