Hi all,
Advice please!
I'm making good progress in pulling together a site which focuses on the Open Source components the iOS development community produces.
My goal is to build a comprehensive and up-to-date list of open source apps, frameworks, and tutorials for iOS developers.
I'm looking for a bit advice from the community at this stage - what do you consider to be an _essential_ feature of this site for go-live?
So far I've got in the mix:
1) App/Framework/Article listings, complete with short descriptions direct links to source and the ability to report broken links.
2) The ability to commment & rate entries in each category
3) "Top Performers" in each category (filterable by popularity/comments/rating).
4) A pretty sleek design (ok, my opinion... !).
5) RSS feeds for all major chunks of functionality.
I'm trying to keep quite a strict focus on the purpose of the site, but there's scope for adding extra features after launch.
There's no current plan to commercialise the site, but I hope to raise some money for hosting etc through ads/sponsored links.
Oh yeah - holding page is up!
Coming Soon | iOSOpenSource (bit flakey for now while I set up the permanent hosting on my VPS).
Disclaimer: Posted in OT rather than advertising as I'm asking for community advice
Cheers,
Paul
