Hi, I知 a new member and in a little dilemma. I知 a web designer and know html and some php, but I知 also interested in creating apps for iphone and the problem is that I have zero knowledge in this. Can anybody give me tips or sites name where I can visit?
An Intel Mac
A Dev License
iPhone Programming Book
iPhone/iPod touch
Now the Intel Mac can be anything from a Mac Mini to a Mac Pro, just get one.
The Dev License can be acquired from Apple for $99 or 」59.
For programming books, I recommend the iPhone Developer's Cookbook by Erica Sadun and the one by Jeff LaMarche (forgot it's name, something like iPhone Beginners Book)
Hey Kiran,
Theres actually an amazing free sanford online programming course. Google it, I personally know alot of developers who sat down and used that course to learn how to program.

Yeah it's pretty good (from what I've seen) but it's a bit annoying the colours on the screen, I know I'm being picky here.

I highly, highly recommend getting "Beginning iPhone 3 Development Exploring the iPhone SDK" by Dave Mark and Jeff LaMarche. This book helped me out immensely when I started to learn.
Also, getting "iPhone User Interface Design Projects" (Also an Apress book in the same series as "Beginning iPhone 3 Development") would be a good idea. While it doesn't have a lot in terms of code or actual projects, it really takes a deep look at interface design. I've found it immensely helpful when designing the layouts for my apps.
Once you get through "Beginning iPhone 3 Development," there's also "More iPhone 3 Development" by the same authors. It has some more intermediate projects in it, and continues where the first book left off.
On top of the books, I'd recommend hanging out here on iPhone Dev SDK and other coding forums. I've learned quite a bit by reading threads here, and most answers can be found with a quick search.
I also recommend "Beginning iPhone 3 Development" by Dave Mark and Jeff LeMarche. If you're a beginner and need more detail on the code, I also recommend "iPhone Application Development for Dummies" by Neal Goldstein. The author goes in great detail on what every code snippet does. It helps you have a better understanding of what's going on. I have both these books, and they're both great in their own ways. If you can, I say get both.
Other than books for reference, stick around in forums. Forums are invaluable at times of struggle.
