Sending Large Files

Hi all,

As part of an app I am developing, I want to send large files from my device back to a server. The files can be up to 50M in size. Would FTP be the best way to go about this?
I am not looking for solutions, but would appreciate someone giving me their opinion as to what is the best way to do this
