Default Software to design an App UI (Graphic)

Hello,

when I like to know what app to use to design all graphical parts of an app
I always get pointed to Photoshop. Isn't there a cheaper alternative for Mac?

Maybe with templates for the differenet iOS device resolutions?

Can you recommend an app?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Marc

Adobe Elements is a stripped down Photoshop. $79.99 in the App Store.

Pixelmator is very capable too and it's only $30. Check it out at the Mac app store.

Based on the fact that I really don't know very much about graphics, could someone recommend one, and just one:

1) I already own GraphicConverter

2) PhotoShop Elements

3) Pixelmator

At this point, all I am trying to make happen is to remove the excessive pixelation on some of my iOS graphics (currently saved as .png)
