When does ad hoc build expire?

I made an ad hoc build in September using a newly-made mobile provisioning file. According to Organizer, this profile expires Sept. 3, 2012. If my ad hoc build is installed on a device right now, will it continue to function on that device for a whole year? I seem to recall reading somewhere that ad hoc builds expired in 3 months or 6 months from the time they were built, even if the mobile provisioning file has not expired.
