Default Xcode 4.2 Window-Based Application?

What is the equivalent of the iOS application template previously called "iOS Window-based application" under the new Xcode 4.2?

OK I think I figured it out. It seems to be the one called "Empty Application".

As far as I know, the Xcode toolchain and the iOS SDK require one to have an intel-based mac. So, no, you cannot run it on a Windows based machine and/or environment. However, Im a bit of a newbie with Apple development myself so I would advise you to start your own thread if you would like more eyes to read it and give you more advice.

Good Luck.

I have the same question: where is window-based application now in Xcode 4.2? is it empty application or is it master-detail application?

It seems to be the one labeled "Empty Application". Its description says that it just gives you a template that has an application delegate object and a window, no view controller. This seems to match almost exactly the description that the "Window-based Application" template used to have in Xcode 4.1.

Post Xcode Possibilities

Windows-Based Application no longer available on the Xcode 4.2 Platform. You need to try 'Empty Application' that almost same like Windows-Based Application. Windows-Based Application only for Xcode 3 or later and it's not available for you guys that are using Xcode 4.2, means that you guys are using Mac OS X 10.7 or later. Same like me, I'm using Xcode 4.3.2 (latest March 2012) for Mac OS X 10.7.3 or later. If you guys using Mac OS X 10.8 Developer Preview, you need to use Xcode 4.4 Developer Preview and I'm not using OS X 10.8. I'm only on OS X 10.7.3. Any questions or recommendations, just reply me. Note: I'm not a newbie.

According to me you should try the view-based application template, which gives you a view on a storyboard to start with. It is similar to the one found in previous versions, except the view now resides on a storyboard which Xcode 4.2 makes use of.
