We just posted a Preview build of Adobe Data Services 4.6 on
http://labs.adobe.com that now includes an all-native iOS Objective-C SDK (XCode Framework) for real-time messaging (pub/sub), Remoting (RPC), APN Push and App State Awareness.
RTMP (Real Time Messaging Protocol) and the regular HTTP channels are supported, using AMF data encoding/decoding, a highly efficient and powerful encoding for complex and deeply nested object graphs. RTMP is supported natively by companies such as F5 Networks devices.
Adobe Data Services powers some very large online gaming shops as well as the real-time trader desktops of many of the world's largest banks and financial institutions today. Hopefully this new release will be useful to the iOS developer community at large. Data Services is capable of pushing up to 400,000 msgs/s out over a 4-hop double-F5 with an avg latency of just 15 milliseconds, and the NIO-based (vs Servlet) channels enable up to 50,000+ simultaneous active connections, perfect for MMO games and apps.
