Default Application Loader Errors

I have been getting errors when trying to submit my application and I have gotten through most of them, usually by very time consuming methods, but I have gotten through them. Now I am getting two errors that I am completely stumped by and anyone who can help me with these will have my undying devotion and a free night of drinks if we ever meet.

Here are the errors:

The binary being analyzed must be an executable: /var/folders/c-/c-fNwUb.../-Tmp/AppName.zip/AppName.app/AppName

and

The binary being analyzed must exist: /var/folders/c-/c-fNwUb.../-Tmp/AppName.zip/AppName.app/AppName

In my AppName.zip file I have a file called AppName.app and in the contents of that is a UNIX executable named AppName.

I think I'm going crazy...

Any help is greatly appreciated-

Keith

Now that XCode 3 and 4 both allow apps to be archived and submitted from the organizer window, I recommend against using Application Loader.

How do you submit it from the Organizer window? I can't seem to locate that function.

Thanks.

After you archive, you look for the Archives tab and you'll see a submit button along the top. The Archives tab at the top in XCode4. I forget exactly where it is in XCode3, but it was not hard to find.

Default Automated way...

You need to add the "executable" permission to the actual executable file before zipping it up. Using the command line, it would be something like:

chmod 755 .../ProjectName.app/ProjectName

It's odd because you don't need to do that step for ad-hoc development builds, but Application Loader requires it and will fail with the error you mentioned if you don't.
