Drawing and coding for a game of Chess Board type

Hi,

I am a newbie to iPhone programming.
Have made some simple programs like "Hello World" and "Calculator".

Now, I want to make a small game similar to Chess.
I want to know about how to draw the required board kind of drawing n the screen.
Also, how to code for the movement of balls or icons on the board.

Any pointers to this would be a great help.!

There are many different ways to do this depending on what you want your end product to be. Taking a wild swing, I think that cocos2d would be a good match for this.

Allows you to start making games with the simplest of ease almost immediately. Just watch the video tutorials(around 10min each) and use the game making template. You'll probably like how it's set up.
