Tiny Tower and GameCenter

In Tiny Tower, there is this feature which allows one to view the tower of friends once you are connected to game center. I am not familiar with game center so wondering how/where did the information get stored? Do we need to have another independent server to work with gamecenter?

yes.....they should have a own server where informations about tower are stored and retrieve it with GameCenter user id.

For a moment, I thought there is a gamecenter cloud that allows us to store game data. In any case, I presume the data of our friend's tower might be outdated since Tiny Tower can be played without any internet connection.
