Default Cocos2d text sprite atop filled poly color contrast

Wish I had found this forum sooner!
Anyway, I'm scrambling to update the graphics on my game MathFall , which
Has had very disappointing sales so far.
I am drawing ccsprites created from text over filled polygons (in draw method with OpenGL drawtrianglefan)
Regardless of what I do, it doesn't look nice at all.
Any OpenGL tricks I can use?
See screenshot below.

Well I'm not sure the look that you're going for, but I'm thinking you might just have better luck drawing the shapes by hand assuming you don't have a huge amount of different shapes.

for the next project, I will use just one sprite and use rotation/scale/skew transforms to get the variety of shapes I need. I dunno how it will work but hopefully it will look better than what I have now.

How about getting some budget to find a designer to create something more "attractive" to your target market for your app?

The graphics in your app looks like from a techo... too simple...in my opinion

I think I've taken this app as far as I could...
I have started work on a new one, which will definitely have much better graphics since I've learned a lot. It's also an issue of scope, I don't think the gameplay of MathFall would be better served by having fancier graphics.
