Hello guys and gals. I made this game waayyyy back then in 2010. But haven't actually finished it after the non success of my first game. But I love making games, so Im back at it. Im NEWB in making games.. so I would like to gather some ideas (yeah, free ideas.. if you don't mind).
It was a tank shooting airplane game, then I got hooked to the bird flu and changed the plane into birds instead. Haha. The movement codes therefore changes to follow that of a bird.
Early shot of it.
Im making this game using raw ObjC though. No cocos2d, no opengl, or whatever. This game will be neverending type (means, the difficulty increases as day increases)..
Features:
1. upgradable truck (speed, fire power, etc) - by killing x number of birds,
you will get crates.
2. waves of birds are programmed to this engine - means there are times there will be many birds coming atcha, and there are grace period where you can rest you finger.
3. ... (here im out of ideas ATM).. (fill in the blanks)
Also is there a way to jump? Maybe a quick flick of the device could make you jump? That could allow you to jump over either obstacles or incoming eggs?
I can't tell too much from the single pic, but here goes:
1. change the terrain, make it so there are mud puddles on some days, make rain and change the speed of the birds/bullets when it rains.
2. allow buying items that allow traction in mud.
3. add hills / trees etc that you can hide behind, change the behavior of the birds when your hiding behind the trees.
Put health packets somewhere where driving skill / tank upgrade is needed to access.
allow user to change perspective angle (if you can) to allow viewing from different heights/ angles.
I think this could be a great game, you are doing a great work. Can't wait to see it on the store.
I also think that you need to add more appealing to it. Right now, killing those birds all the way sounds like too tedious and monotonous, great fun for the first minutes you play it.
-Add more fun on the ground: it seems too plain, there's no challenge down there.
-I would add the ability to save some birds from extinction, ones of a rare kind. If you kill any of them, you lose points. You need to rescue them.
-Add achievements
Hi all. I don't know how to say this, but the game has changed concept!. Instead of birds and truck, I have a tank and robots now. lol. I am almost finished with the "gameplay" and setting up the "infinite levels". Later will be uploading the screen captures here. App launching is probably will be in another week or so. I am also making the music myself (whereby i suck at it so...)

Hope all goes well! Looks like an interesting game, be sure to post a link up so we can have a see :-)
Looks alright does feel amaturish though like the birds flying accross the screen only has like 1 frame... beeter if there was like some animation flying accross and each of them had some random flying animation not all the same. THE UI looks so heavy filled up, personally me I would probably wouldnt have time to look at all the health bars as thres like 5 of em on a small screen (assuming for iphone) and maybe clicking to move can be annoying sometimes you could perhaps use a tilt function to mvoe it instead and touch screen to fire missles into my ***. other than that good job for a second game.. lol
Yeah.. but they're not birds though. They are now droids . Thanks for your comments though... regarding tilt to move, I've tried it before, but my kid dislike it.. so I changed it back to tapping.
Looks like a fun little game! I like that you changed the airplanes to birds. Changes it up from the typical tank (or other military vehicle) shooting down airplanes (or helicopters). Let me know when it's finished, I'd like to give it a whirl!
