Personal opinion aside, if you go to your project settings change "Device Family" to iPhone, versus iPhone / iPad. Doing so will disable iPad native mode.

Like many great apps in the AppStore (Angry Bird HD, Plant Vs Zombies HD, etc...), I intend to create 2 versions of my app. One for iPhone and the other HD version for iPad which I intend to charge more.
