Want some advice...

Alright, so I have this old PC at my house, and I want to convert it to a server that can host online gaming, can anyone give me some advice(I know I need to wipe my hard drive at least) or show me where I might find a tutorial on the subject.

I'd be careful with this - my first red flag is bandwidth. Although I do not know your specific situation, I can see that being a bottleneck - especially if your platform / app receives a large usage spike. For these sort of things, I am partial to the many cloud computing platforms available today.
