Audio on iPad app made in UK not working on US iPads?
Hello,
I'm in the UK and I released an iPad app in October 2010 and everything seemed to be fine with it.
I've recently gotten two reports back from people complaining that audio in the app is not working (most of which would be in video) - so far, both of these reports have been from the US.
I'm in contact with one of the people who's experiencing the problem - I've asked them to check the side lock and its settings, the soft mute settings, to try using headphones and also asked them to do a reboot.
I'm trusting them that they did all of the above correctly, but the sound still isn't working.
Has anyone any ideas as to what could be causing this? I've just checked the app on an iPad 2 in the UK and everything works perfectly here - what in the blazes would be causing the sound to not work on US models?
Are there differences in codecs regionally or have codecs changed in all the iOS updates (the app was made for 4.2).
It's nearly impossible for me to debug this as it seems to be so random (it's apparently not affecting everyone) so I'm between a very pointy rock & hard place with this and any & all suggestions & ideas would be welcome.
