It has users type their Apple ID and password on the web and be able to get their download history in App store.
Apple doesn't provide any official API to login to iTunes or iCloud.

They probably reverse-engineered the exchange between the App Store and a web client, and masquerade as a web client, then digest the data that comes from iTunes.
